HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELBY!!!

I can't believe how fast the time flies. One minute they are babies and the next they are all grown up and you start doing the "I was doing this when I was her age" and feeling really old. I am really proud of the Lady that Kelby has turned into. She is a beautiful young lady. I hope that she will achieve all the things in life that she wants and deserves.

I can't believe that my beautiful, wonderful, sweet, kind, loving, un-selfish mother is 80. she looks great! We had a party for her and she really seamed to have a good time. My sister joy's family did the decorations. which were so cool! My sister Leslie choreographed the whole thing.

I want to thank my mom for all she has done for me.

Being a mother is a huge responsibility and full of major sacrifices that I think go unnoticed most of the time. I am glad that we have a day to remind us to show our mothers how much they mean to us. Hopefully we can do this every day and not only once a year. To all of you Mothers, and soon to be mothers… I hope that your day is filled with the warmth and love that you deserve everyday!

This year has started off interesting!

My baby moved into her very own apartment last week. It is amazing to me how fast the time goes. I am very proud of her and it is great to see her growing up. This is a really strange time in my life. For the past 20 (almost 21) years my life has been all about her. She is an amazing woman now excited and determined to take on the world.

Now i have to learn to life my life again for me. Mike does make that so much easier to do. We are loving where we are at in life and loving each other too.

Kelby and I went to see our favorite local artist last night.
Kalai
He defines himself as Urban Vintage.
His real name is Kaniela Ka Lei Alii O Kalani Kalai.
Now you see why he goes just by Kalai for us poor white folk. He is a wonderful artist.
It was at the Thanksgiving Point Waterfall Amphitheater. Beautiful place. The weather was nice for an outside show. There was just one thing missing.... We missed you Mike.

Deer Valley

We went to Deer Valley over the weekend.

We were hooked up with a sweet condo.

Friday night we went and had a nice dinner at the Eating Establishment in Park City. Saturday morning we went to breakfast then went for a 5 mile hike (unreal views)

At the half way mark there is this great spot that someone build. With picnic tables and BBQs.

That night we stayed in and Mike cooked Fajitas for dinner. We laid around and watched TV and just relaxed. Just what we both needed. Sunday morning we got up and went for another hike. We took the ski lift to the top of Bald Mountain were you can see 360 degrees.

The most unreal top of the world feeling.

California

August 6th, 2008 Kelby and I went to California for her best friends wedding. Brittany lived with us for a period of time so I think about her as my adopted daughter. I can't believe that Kelby is old enough or has friends old enough to be getting married.

Not to mention Jake Green that just had a baby. WOW! I am getting old.

Anyway back to California. We then picked up a car and drove to Upland where the grooms parents live.

We stayed in Upland for two days then headed up the coast to the beautiful Santa Barbra. I think I could live there real easy (that is if I could afford it). The weather was perfect. We stayed in a little town outside of Santa Barbra called Carpintria. We spent most of our time in Santa Barbra.

Eat real good.... This is a restaurant called the Sandbar.

Jake Lawson from Tucson joined us. Nice guy. Hu Kelby?

We went to the beach. This guy was making a mermaid out of sand. It was cool!

Mike flew down on Friday night. The two of us walked around State Street in Santa Barbra. That place is one big party at night. Then we spent Saturday driving around and exploring this wonderful town.

Saturday night was the wedding in this little park. I was a beautiful place to get married and a very small wedding.

Yes this is the groom in all his glory!

The wedding was beautiful. They are so cute together!! After the wedding Kelby and Jake, Mike and I went to Carlito's for dinner. It was a good time.

We drove home on Sunday! It was a good get-away. I was so glad that Mike could fly down and spend time with me there.

I saw my hero last night......

My friend Denae and I went to see James Taylor last night. He put on a great show as always. He was telling jokes and being the sincere and wonderful artist that he is. Just once in my lifetime I would LOVE to meet him. He has been with me all my life. I can only image what a incredible person he would be to talk with.

We had a good time.

But then again... Good Friends, Good Beer and GREAT Music.....

I can't believe that Mike and I have been dating for a year already!! Time flies.... We have know each other for about 2 years but it was a year ago that I talked him into meeting me for a drink. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Me met after work at the Raddison ( small little bar in the restaurant). We were both so nervous. We sat and talked none stop and before we knew it was 9:00. I remember walking to the cars in the parking lot. He gave me a hug. We drove away. We have been texting and talking none stop ever since. He is my love! Those of you that have met him know why.

He is Awesome!

I hope to have many more years to come with him! :)

Great Weekend

I had a great weekend. Spent the whole weekend with Mike. And got to hang out with the family too. Saturday we went to my nephew's and had a BBQ with the family. My sister was in town from California and my niece and nephew from Chicago. We had a good time. Mike fits in so good with my family. I think they like him better then me.

He was schooling us all on ping pong! See Emily's blog for pictures.

Softball

Last night I went and watched Mike play softball. It was a great night to be out at the ball park. The weather was perfect. You couldn't have asked for better. Too bad they didn't win.

I read your blogs about how much you love your husbands and now it is my turn.......

Let me tell you how this most awesome, wonderful man makes me feel.

He is my best friend. He make s me feel so safe and like I can do anything. I hate when we can't be together. I love just cuddling on the couch. We can sit and talk for hours about everything and nothing. I can be stupid and he thinks it is cute. I am totally 100% myself around him and that feels so good.

I used to be against the great union of marriage. I could not understand why people would waste their time getting married. I just seamed like more trouble than it was worth. NOW I KNOW WHY! When you find that person it is the most incredible feeling in the world. The saying "Your better half" that is so dead on.

He makes me want to be a better person. When I look 10, 15, 20 years down the road I see us together. Talking, cuddling, arguing, laughing and just loving each other completely. I know you all think that I am just so sappy. But those of you that know me know how in love I am.

He is my soul mate!!! I love you baby!!!

Mike, Kelby and I went to see Poison the other night. I knew some of the songs (even though it was totally my era) I was never really a fan. We went because it was something fun and cheep to do (can't beat free). We did have a good time just being together.

My co-worker Kathy and I spent some time on this one. I don't really have to many to speak of.

Common things like the toilet paper roll has to be put on so the paper hangs over the top. Never under.

Coasters...... I hate to have drinks placed on wood furniture without a coaster under it.

Making fun of me makes me mad. Don't find any humor in stupid things I do.

Kelby did bring one to mind.... When she unloads the dishwasher (which I am grateful she does) She doesn't put the dishes away the way I like them. The new dishes don't get put with the old ones (different shelf)

And lastly......

I hate emails that say you must forward on to everyone you know. Therefor I am not tagging anyone in this blog.

Work Day at the Cabin

Today we went to the cabin work day. Mike and I got there a little late but had stuff to do! Dad, Mike and I got busy re-stacking the wood pile in the back.

Mike really likes doing that kind of stuff. It was so nice up there today.

The Home Owners came and had a pot luck lunch at our cabin in the afternoon.

The Beginning

Well I have now joined the world of Blogging. I love to read what my family is up to. I will try and keep you all up to date on things happening in my life. However, It is not as exciting as all of you younger people with kids.

Kelby is working at Granoto’s (an Italian deli) just down the street from our house. It is easy for to get to work. But that is not going to matter soon. Yes look out world! She is finally going to get her drivers license.

She just turned 20 (still looks 15 though)

As for me.....

I am SOOOOOO in love!

Things are going really well for the two of us. I never knew that a person could make you feel so complete, content and happy.
